The 2024 AGM  was held on Thursday 1 February 7.30pm at the New Beaconsfield Hall.

Euan Birch - Junior Player of the Year - selected by Faith.

A note from Faith:

This year Euan Birch is my player of the year.

Choosing one child out of so many juniors is not an easy task. I always stick with the criteria that it’s not just about being good at tennis. Euan is obviously a fantastic tennis player who is now mixing it up with the big boys on a Thursday despite being much younger and he is thriving and improving.

However, there’s a lot more to Euan than playing tennis. 18 months ago he started helping me as a DofE helper. Initially he said very little to the children. Fast forward to now and he’s an integral part of my coaching team. He is admired and respected by a lot of children. He’s happy to fill in and cover coaches when they’re ill. He’s confident and encouraging, albeit quietly, but that’s absolutely fine as some children need a nurturing tennis coach. I understand he’s keen to gain a proper coaching qualification too, which I will be proud to be his mentor. Another reason he’s my player of the year, mum messaged me after I’d nagged about him invoicing for his hours, he told her, I don’t like asking for cash because I enjoying helping so much! That sums Euan up - a thoughtful considerate young man. Well done and thank you.
